Activities

So much to do...a week won't be long enough!!! Some of the many choices:

Swim off your own sandy beach in gentle water, or take a 20-minute drive to ocean beaches with rolling surf.

Kayaks and safety equipment are available for our guests at no cost. One family kayak suitable for 2 adults and 1 child is perfect for a gentle paddle in the bay. In addition, two single kayaks are suitable for adults or older children.

Golf at lovely Shelburne County Golf and Country Club, an easy 30-minute drive. Or practice your golf swing with aqua-golf, driving balls into Lake George 10 minutes away.

Dine at romantic gourmet restaurants. A complimentary copy of “Taste of Nova Scotia: Recommended Dining Guide” is yours upon arrival.

Explore historic Shelburne with a walk along Dock Street, film location for The Scarlet Letter. Visit the Ross-Thomson House & Store built in 1875, the Shelburne County Museum built in 1787, and the Dory Shop with dories being built as they were in the 19th century.

Shop at antique stores and art galleries such as Tottie's Store or Charlotte Lane with country crafts in Shelburne or the Sherman Hines Museum of Photography and Art Gallery in Liverpool.

Celebrate at seasonal festivals...a calendar of special events will be in your “Welcome” packet presented upon your arrival.

Day trips to a variety of South Shore hiking/walking trails:

Port L’Hebert Pocket Wilderness Park
Big Tancook Island
Bridgewater Woodland Gardens, at the DesBrisay Museum
Risser’s Beach, Salt Marsh Trail
Liverpool Nature Walking Trail
Wedgeport Nature Trails

Take a scenic drive along the coast to Lunenburg, settled in 1753. Unique in architecture, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a walking tour is the only way to truly appreciate the many fine old homes, shops, galleries and museums. When you run out of steam, there are numerous excellent restaurants to revive your spirits.
